Wall Street Journal interested in balloon industry

October 22, 2009

I was very flattered to have been contacted by Timothy Martin of the Wall Street Journal. He said that I was recommended as a good source for him to begin his research for an article he was planning on balloons.

After much discussion about who’s who and who does what in the balloon industry, his interest started to lean toward balloon twisters. Naturally, I recommended that Timothy speak with Betty Vlamis at Pioneer Balloon Co., which he did.

What resulted was an article entitled, Hyperinflation: Balloon Twisters Stretch the Limits of Latex Art.

The article is great. My one criticism is that neither myself nor Betty were mentioned at all!

Introducing U.S. Balloon Noodle Factory blog

October 16, 2009

There is a connection among doodling, blogging, ballooning and noodling. The connections are what this blog is about. This post is the first attempt to introduce to the world the interesting connections that we come across at the U.S. Balloon Noodle Factory.

It’s also sometimes puzzling. My name is Michael Isaacs. I am writing this blog because I think it will be enjoyable to discuss topics that have arisen and continue to arise in the balloon business.
